This report, written for Reading and Access Research Activity (RARA) tells the story of the development of the ESSPIN English language lesson plans.
The report starts with the background to the lesson plan development and their purpose and then looks at some of the thinking behind the evolution of the materials, including feedback from different stakeholders. The report looks briefly at the impact the introduction of lesson plans into schools has had. Finally, recommendations will be made for the development of the Hausa materials by RARA so that they can learn from the experience of Education Sector Support Programme in Nigeria (ESSPIN).
